Which Tesla Vehicles Are Available For Pre-order In 2022?

    Aug 09,2022 | Chloe Lacour

If the American car manufacturer Tesla is above all known across the globe for its S3XY range, it does not intend to stop there and will soon offer new models on the electric market. Among the other Tesla vehicles, we necessarily think of the Roadster, which will soon be back for a whole new generation, or even the Semi, an electric tractor-trailer truck. Moreover, some of the future Tesla releases are already available for pre-order. You are interested in one of these electric vehicles and would like to reserve it now. We tell you everything you need to know in this article!

    4. The essentials to remember

    The Tesla Cybertruck
When it was presented in 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck made a lot of noise and we've been waiting for it ever since! Well, it looks like the wait is almost over since for some time now the 100% electric pickup has been available for pre-order on Elon Musk's brand website. Remember that the Tesla Cybertruck has a design never seen on the market and will be available in three versions, the most powerful of which will carry three electric motors and up to 800 km of autonomy.

To pre-order it, you must pay an advance of 100 euros, refundable if you change your mind, except that since May 2022, it is no longer possible... Indeed, if you go to the page dedicated to the Tesla Cybertruck, you will notice that the “Pre-order” option has disappeared. Why? According to information from our colleagues, it seems that the electric pickup has accumulated enough orders for the next three years of production. While it is expected for the year 2023, the American market will obviously have priority and it will therefore be necessary to wait to see it on European roads.

    The Tesla Roadster
Unlike the Cybertruck, the second-generation Tesla Roadster is open for pre-order in France. While the Tesla Roadster was the American automaker's first electric car, the first iteration was largely based on the Lotus Elise, but it already showed promising performance. It was in 2017 that the new Roadster was presented and it no longer has anything to do with the old one, while Tesla communicates on a range of 1,000 km, a maximum speed of 400 km/h, and a 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 sec. Enough to make the Tesla Roadster the fastest vehicle in the world.

Production is expected to start in 2023 at the Giga Texas factory in Austin, but pre-orders are already open. To reserve your Roadster, go to the brand's website and prepare to open your wallet... Indeed, when pre-ordering you will have to advance 4,000 euros and then an additional 39,000 euros within 10 days, without, however, knowing the total price of the vehicle.

The case of the Tesla Semi
Let's finish this overview of the Teslas currently on pre-order with the Tesla Semi, the future 100% electric semi-trailer tractor truck for professionals. Presented in 2017, the Semi has not yet revealed all its secrets, but we already know that it will have a range of between 400 and 800 km, depending on the version, and is announced between 150,000 and 180,000 dollars.

If pre-orders have indeed been open for several weeks, this only concerns the American, Dutch and British markets for the moment. Like the Tesla Roadster, an initial deposit of $5,000 is required, then an additional $15,000 within ten days to validate the reservation. In the United States, several large groups have already placed orders, such as Sysco, FedEx, and PepsiCo. Production is also expected to start in 2023, at the Gigafactory Texas. As you can imagine, you will have to wait to see European drivers driving a Tesla Semi.

    The main thing to remember
While Elon Musk's brand prefers to focus on the production of Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y in 2022, it is also preparing for the future with several new electric models. In France, you can, for now, only reserve the Tesla Roadster, without knowing when it will be available or how much it will cost. The Tesla Cybertruck was indeed open for reservations in the French market, but this is no longer the case at the time of this writing. Finally, the Tesla Semi has not yet opened its (pre)order book.
