Tesla: Supercharger In Hilden Gets The Pool

    Aug 07,2022 | Chloe Lacour

Tesla is opening a pool at its Supercharger location in Hilden. You can swim there while it is charging until the end of August.

In contrast to combustion engines, electric cars take a little longer to recharge their batteries. Although the charging process should be faster in the future, customers should still be offered more at the charging stations. Audi's charging hub is more reminiscent of a frequent flyer lounge than an electricity tank. In Hilden, Tesla is even expanding its supercharger location with a pool.

Even without the pool, the location at the Hilden motorway junction near Düsseldorf invites you to linger. After all, it is located in the Seed&Greet charging park, where travelers will find not only the 40 superchargers from Tesla but also 12 Fastned charging points and 44 slower charging stations. The electricity comes from photovoltaic carports and a battery on the edge of the site.

There is also a cafe-bistro with a wide range of food and a beautifully designed outdoor area with a pond. The charging park was also recently awarded the Ladeport Award in the "Most beautiful charging station" category. This prize was awarded nationwide for the first time. In the future, there will also be a Tesla pool, although the owner and bakery entrepreneur Roland Schüren is actually responsible for the inviting and ecological design. However, the US electric car manufacturer is responsible for the latest upgrade. Schüren only made the preparations for Tesla to be able to deliver the container, he explained to Teslamag.

The pool is a container that can be used for swimming during the charging process at the Supercharger in Hilden. However, only four people are allowed to swim in it at the same time and only for ten minutes, as a sign reveals.

Tesla: Supercharger usage required for pool usage

“Pack your bikini and swimming trunks in your hand luggage! Tesla has the towels ready,” Schüren wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. The towels are collected daily from a local laundry, the baker explained when asked by Teslamag. The bathing season started on August 4th at 2 p.m. but ends again on August 28th. The pool can then be used from Thursday to Sunday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

During this time, Tesla staff will keep an eye on the pool. Children under 12 must still be accompanied by an adult. If you want to use the pool, you also have to prove that you are charging your car with one of the superchargers. It is unlikely that the rush will lead to a traffic jam similar to that of a Tesla Supercharger in Croatia
