The BMW iX1 is more expensive than the Tesla Model Y

    Sep 07,2022 | Tesmag

The presentation of the iX1, the all-electric version of the new X1, is an important event for BMW, but the new model will also have a corresponding cost.

The third generation of the X1 is now available on the European market and the new BMW SUV model has become more modern and quality than before, while its design has been adapted to the data that the German company has followed in recent years.

On the occasion of the development of the new X1, the iX1 was also created, its purely electric version, which will mainly compete with the Audi Q4 e - tron and Mercedes- EQ EQA. As BMW has announced, the car will have two electric motors with a maximum combined power of 313 hp and a maximum combined torque of 494 Nm. They get energy from the batteries with a real energy capacity of 64.7 kWh which give a maximum theoretical range of 438 km.

BMW has announced that orders for the iX1 have begun and that its so-called "launch price" in Europe will start from 55,150 euros, with similar equipment. This price is higher than that of the Tesla Model Y, which is available for 49,990 euros in some European countries.

The iX1's selling price is on par with its two other direct German competitors. However, in addition to the Model Y, now pure electric SUV models from other companies have started to be available in the market which is cheaper in comparison, while offering a very good level of safety equipment and comfort for the passengers.
