Installation Guide
1. Preparation (Crucial Safety)
  • Safety Gear: Wear safety goggles and chemical-resistant gloves to prevent skin contact with coolant.
  • Drain Coolant: Drain approximately 2-3 liters of the specific blue Tesla coolant (G-48 type) until the fluid level is below the pump mounting height.
  • Power Down: On the touchscreen, go to Safety > Power Off. Also, disconnect the 12V (or 16V) low-voltage battery/emergency circuit according to official procedures.
2. Removing the Old Pump
  • Access: Remove the front trunk (Frunk) and the plastic trim covers underneath to expose the Superbottle reservoir assembly.
  • Disconnect: Press the tab on the 4-pin electrical connector and carefully pull it out.
  • Unbolt: Use a 10mm socket to remove the 3 bolts securing the pump.
  • Pull Out: Slowly pull the pump straight out of the Superbottle. Note: Have a rag ready for any residual coolant spill.
  • Check O-Rings: Ensure both black O-rings came out with the old pump and are not stuck inside the reservoir.
3. Installing the New Pump (Precision Step)
  • Lubricate O-Rings: You MUST apply a small amount of clean coolant or specialized O-ring lubricant to the two new O-rings. This prevents them from tearing or flipping during insertion.
  • Seat the Pump: Align the new pump with the mounting holes on the Superbottle and push it in straight and firmly.
  • Torque Bolts: Hand-tighten the 3 bolts, then use a torque wrench to tighten to:
    • Standard Torque: 5 Nm (Do not over-tighten, as the housing is plastic).
  • Reconnect: Plug in the 4-pin connector until you hear a "click."
4. Refilling & Bleeding (System Calibration)
Warning: Do not drive the car immediately after installation, or the motor may burn out due to air pockets.
  • Refill: Fill the reservoir with original blue Tesla coolant to the MAX line.
  • Enter Service Mode:
    • Go to Software, long-press the "Model 3/Y" text, and type the password to enter Service Mode.
  • Run Bleeding Procedure:
    • Navigate to: Thermal > Coolant Fill & Bleed.
    • The system will automatically run the pumps to purge air. Monitor the reservoir and top up the coolant as the level drops.
  • Final Check: Once the procedure finishes, verify there are no leaks and reinstall the Frunk.
