    Starting a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y

    Depending on the Tesla electric car you are going to take possession of, the start-up does not run the same way. Let's start with the most popular models on the Old Continent, the Tesla Model 3 sedan and the Tesla Model Y SUV.

    First, make sure you always have your mobile phone with you, on which the manufacturer's application is installed and connected, but also the Tesla key provided on delivery of the vehicle.

    Then, to start your Tesla, it's very simple. By opening the door of your electric car, the central touch screen switches on automatically and you then have access to all the controls of the vehicle. To hit the road, you have two options:

    you can simply press the brake pedal to power up the vehicle;
    or select a driving mode on the lever located behind the steering wheel, on the right. By moving it down you engage the forward gear, while if you push it up, you are in reverse gear.

    Your Model 3 or Model Y does not detect your key or your phone when you press the brake pedal? This means that you must authenticate yourself to drive and the touchscreen will also display a similar message. To do this, you must place your key behind the cup holder so that the RFID transmitter can read it. Authentication will start instantly and after a few minutes, you can start your journey.

    The case of the Tesla Model S and Model X

    When it comes to the Tesla Model S and Model X, the process is somewhat different, especially if you're going for the latest version of the premium sedan or SUV.

    Note, however, that you will have to be extremely patient because, for the time being, the Model S and Model X are reserved for the American market, which is also experiencing significant delays. If you go to the brand's website or dealership, you can still pre-order your car, without knowing when it will be delivered.

    But back to the topic of the article, namely starting a Tesla Model S or Model X. On these electric models, it's even simpler and everything is done from the touch screen. By opening the door to take a seat, the dashboard is activated automatically and all you have to do is press the brake pedal and then select a driving mode on the touch screen. D mode allows you to drive forward, while R mode enables reverse.

    If you have an authentication problem and your key is not detected, repeat the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y procedure, this time placing the key in one of the phone charging stations.

    The main thing to remember
    You are now ready to get behind the wheel of your new Tesla and enjoy relaxing and quiet journeys in a car equipped with the most modern technologies.
